Hello and welcome to the THIRD Stranger Things post in a row.
I’m going to reviewing the episodes twice a week, usually Wednesday and Saturday or Sunday.
Anyway, let me start by saying I absolutely loved it. Stranger a Things is VERY easily the best TV show on right now. The directing is top notch, the cinematography is top notch, the script is top notch, the acting from everyone is top notch, especially with Eleven and Will, who constantly provide excellent acting.
The episode is a great build up for the rest of the series and that’s not surprising because that is one of the things that Stranger Things does best.
The entire show is top notch. There is nothing to complain about. The show has not degraded in quality at all since the last season, and the two seasons blend together really well. The characters still feel grounded and realistic and I like every single character, as they are all fleshed out and all fall into a grey area when it comes to morality and it’s not as simple as protagonist, villain, bully, outcast and the characters have a human level of depth you don’t see in most TV these days.
Well…it’s not entirely true that I have no complaints. I do have one complaint. They brought back El too soon. If you were to watch the whole of season one and then instantly watch season two, epsiode one, there would be literally only an hour between El dying and El coming back. I can understand it though. They needed to do something that would carry emotional weight at the end of season one so they killed off El, but then they were left with a dilema where they would either have to permanently kill off the best character or bring her back very soon after she died. That I can understand. But why did they have to base the entire marketing scheme off the return of El? I mean, they could have made something out of it, couldn’t they?
Anyway, just nitpicking. I bet you if I made the show it would be at best 3/10. I really enjoyed episode one and I can’t wait to watch episode two.
