A kid’s view of politics #8: My response to Eminem’s Trump Freestyle – Free Speech and cultural bias

I think it’s bad. In my opinion it’s the worst thing he’s ever done. It’s poorly done and lacks any intelligence. But that’s not what I’m here to talk about. What I’m talking about is the praise that Eminem is getting from 3 minutes of childish disses against the president.

Eminem does not deserve points just for criticising Trump. He is doing that, but he is getting praise just because of what he is rapping about. Subject matter does not show quality. Quality does.
Also, if Eminem was making pulling the same punches against Hillary Clinton, I’m sure everyone would be calling it unintelligent and uninspired. It’s a attack on free speech.
Let me make a comparison. Rage against the machine was a great band. Prophets of rage isn’t good. They have the same subject matter. But Prophets of Rage are terrible because they have no intelligence and their songs are too simple. For instance, one of their songs is literally just un**** the world chanted over and over again for four minutes.
My point is that holding and voicing a certain view should not give you points, and in fact, when you are rapping about such an oversaturated topic you should lose points.
Now don’t get me wrong. I hate Donald Trump. But I hate this equally. This is so clearly a cultral bias against the right, and although I don’t like the right at all, you have to learn to accept and understand the opinion of people.
