Hope is nothing. – A poem

We say we are united,

When we are more divided than ever.

We prerend that humans are indestructible,

When all we are doing is aiding our self-destruction.

They said 1984 was meant to be a warning not a guide book,

But they refuse to try to change society to stop that reality,

Or should I say that eventuality,

7 billion strong, but still we can’t live with nature,

And therefore we cannot live with ourselves.

Life’s a mess,

But what we have now isn’t a mess,

But instead an intentional collection of events,

That tear us apart,

Until hope is nothing,

But a speck upon a speck in an infinite void of darkness.
