Hello, and welcome to another post. I’ve been listening to a lot of different albums, and I thought it might be a good idea to recommend some of the albums I think are especially good. So without further ado, let’s get into the post:
- Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space – Spiritualized
Best track: Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space (title track)
Why: The album is simply beautiful
- Let them eat chaos – Kate Tempest
Best tracks: Europe is lost / Tunnel Vision
Why: A haunting view of society delivered in spoken word rap
- Pure comedy – Father John Misty
Best tracks: When the god of love returns there’ll be hell to pay / Things it would be helpful to know before the revolution / Two wildly different perspectives / Pure Comedy (title track)
Why: An amazing album protesting against the state of society that sounds like an Alan Watts speech combined with Nick Drake and Elton John.
- xInfinty – Watsky
Best tracks: Lovely thing suite: Conversations / talking to myself / Stick to your guns
Why: A deeply reflective album by rapper Watsky that thinks about the meaning of life, what is death and also criticises society with songs like stick to your guns
- Back to black – Amy Winehouse
Best tracks: You know I’m no good / Tears dry on their own / Just Friends
Why: An amazing album with a great feel by soul / jazz singer Amy Winehouse.
- 2112 – Rush
Best tracks: The entire first half.
Why: In my opinion, one of the greatest concept albums ever, and the 20 minute long song that lasts for the first half of the record is one of the best songs ever written.
- OK computer – Radiohead
Best tracks: Airbag / No suprises
Why: Just go listen to it and you’ll know why.
- Skeleton tree – Nick Cave
Best tracks: Jesus Alone / Rings of Saturn
Why: Some people say it’s uninteresting, but it’probably the most soulful album of the decade.
- The queen is dead – The smiths
Best tracks: The queen is dead (title track) / There is a light that never goes out.
Why: Probably the only pop album I could truly call a masterpiece.
- Soul Mining – The the
Best track: Uncertain Simile
Why: An album full to the brim with unhinged piano solos and amazing songwriting
Well, that’s it for now, so
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Good list. Try the EPs by the Beta Band, especially “Dry the Rain”

Skeleton Tree is right up there with Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs and Car Seat Headrest’s Teens of Denial for me for best albums of the decade so far. Nick Cave is an absolute genius. Also, he almost fell on me when I saw him live, and it was awesome.
