This is certaintly a different step for Paramore. Moving away from the pop-punk sound they were famous for, they seem to be turning to a 80’s pop / 70’s disco feel with their own twist to it. Now, for some Paramore fans, this change may not be desirable, but for me, this is just as good if not better than riot and brand new eyes. The lyrical content of the songs are so meaningful and poignant, unlike the new fall out boy song or any of the other new pop punk material. And unlike some artists, there are no throwaway tracks on this record. This is exactly what I wanted when I first heard hard times, the first single. The only downside is that it doesn’t last longer.
